Early development
The history of the Philippines, place by place.
An interactive map where you can open any region, province, city, municipality or barangay and read its history — with a timeline that moves from the pre-colonial period through Spanish, American and Japanese rule to the present.
What it will do
Every place is clickable
Open any place, down to the barangay, and read what is known about it.
A map that moves through time
Drag the timeline and watch borders, place names and areas of control change.
Who held power, and where
From datus and sultans to the governors-general and the presidents — shown for the place and year you choose.
The bayani on the map
Where they were born, studied, fought, were exiled and died, drawn as the journeys they were.
Every claim is sourced
Histories are written only from official records, primary documents and published scholarship. Each page lists its sources, local traditions are labelled as such, and contested points are shown as contested.
Where the project is now
This page is the first step: the project is live and deploying. Next comes the base map, then the histories of Cavite. Nothing here is final yet.
